Copywriting case study: MGN events

When premium events firm MGN events wanted to attract more interest in the corporate side of their business, they acknowledged that they needed to produce informative and engaging content that targeted this sector.

To ensure the quality of the content matched their high-end offering, they therefore got in touch with our copywriters to produce several SEO articles to add to their website.

Here’s what we did…

The background

MGN events is an award-winning luxury event planner that organises and designs high-end parties, conferences, weddings and international events for corporate and private clients.

Their superior services ensure that all clients receive a memorable experience. Every aspect of an event can be managed by their talented team, from choosing the right venue to managing the big day itself so that the client can focus on enjoying themselves. 

From corporate festivals and circus-themed family fun days to Boomtown-inspired 21st birthday parties, MGN events can bring a vision to life for a truly unforgettable event.

Following the disruption of the pandemic years, MGN events began to look at ways to promote their end-to-end service for corporate event planning. A key part of this strategy was to attract more organic traffic to their website. They subsequently got in touch with our team to lend its expertise.

The challenge

In order to generate more organic traffic, it would be vital to uncover relevant keywords and keyphrases that related to premium corporate event planning. We could then use this knowledge to inform the briefs we were given by MGN events.

This research then needed to be balanced with promoting specific aspects of MGN event’s service that distinguish them from their peers. 

The content would also need to show a firm understanding of clients’ pain points so that the articles could illustrate how MGN events could offer a valuable solution.

The final challenge was to deliver a large body of work in a very short timeframe to allow MGN events to target summer-related keywords before the season began. 

The solution

MGN events already had a good idea of the kinds of topics they would like to cover and the particular services they would like to promote. These topics included inspirational articles on themes for summer corporate events, listicles on top team away day ideas and in-depth, longform content such as a summer party planning guide for 200+ guests. 

They therefore provided us with a number of content briefs upfront. Upon receiving them, we carried out keyword research on terms that MGN events would benefit from. This research was then passed to the MGN events team so that they could confirm that the terms were relevant.

Once the topics and their keywords were confirmed, we went on to carry out extensive research for each article. In doing so, we were able to inform our writing and ensure that the needs and questions of possible MGN events clients were addressed. We also interviewed key members of the MGN events’ team, including the director, to get unique insider information.

When the research had been gathered and the interviews completed, we moved onto crafting the content, which seamlessly wove relevant keywords with insightful, useful and inspirational information. This content was then carefully proofread to ensure its readability and accuracy.

The articles was then delivered to the MGN events team for review. Any amends were sent back to us and the copy adapted ready for publication.

The results

The result of this work is a body of optimised content featuring guides, top tips and FAQs. Thanks to our research and interviews, each piece is well thought out and covers questions and pain points that future clients are likely to have. This has allowed us to position MGN events as a problem-solver and leader in this industry.

This content was delivered according to a tight schedule, enabling MGN events to upload the summer-related content at a relevant time.
