Report & White Paper Creation

Position your brand asindustry leaders

Authority isn’t claimed, it’s demonstrated. White papers and insight reports are one of the most powerful ways to do exactly that. When you create original, high-value content rooted in real-world data, interviews and expert analysis, you don’t just join the conversation, you lead it.

Whether it’s a research-backed trends report, an in-depth white paper on an emerging challenge, or a survey-led insight piece, these assets give your audience something they genuinely value: clarity, evidence and perspective. They help position your brand as a trusted voice – one that doesn’t just sell, but understands.

Here at Method Marketing, we create insight-driven content assets that feel as good as they read – and that start with your expertise. That means working closely with your senior team, subject matter experts and stakeholders to uncover what’s worth saying (and what your audience actually wants to hear). We’ll help shape your insights into a compelling narrative, add structure and deliver the finished article.

We can also help you promote your report or white paper across your owned channels and beyond.

Whether you’ve got a half-formed idea or a fully scoped brief, we’ll help you turn it into a content asset that cuts through the noise and positions your brand as the leader in your sector.

FAQ

Your Report and White Paper questions answered

What’s the difference between a white paper and a report?

A white paper is typically a persuasive, in-depth argument or explanation. It might outline a particular challenge your industry faces and suggest a solution – your solution, ideally. Think of it as part insight, part influence.

A report, on the other hand, tends to be more observational or research-led. It often presents data from surveys or interviews, drawing conclusions based on what the evidence suggests rather than what you’re trying to sell. Both are powerful, but they serve slightly different strategic purposes.

How do you come up with the topic or angle? Can you help us develop the idea?

Absolutely. Some clients come to us with a sharp idea and a clear outline. Others just have a hunch – “we think something interesting is happening here, but we’re not quite sure how to frame it.” That’s fine.

We help shape raw thoughts into clear, relevant narratives. We listen to your internal conversations, look at what’s happening in the wider market and ask the questions your audience wishes someone would answer.

Do we need to supply all the content, or can you conduct interviews and do research?

You don’t need to write a single word. We regularly conduct interviews with subject matter experts, customers and partners. We can also handle original research – running surveys, sourcing secondary data, or shaping insights from your existing materials. We do the digging, the shaping, the structuring and the writing. You just need to be willing to share your thinking.

Who will you need to speak to in our business?

Usually, we’ll want time with the people who have real insight – often senior leaders, product specialists or anyone close to the customer. We may interview between three and 10 people – though we always try to keep the time with each to a minimum – we know your people are busy!

What’s the process for creating a white paper or report?

It typically goes like this: we start with a scoping call to clarify the purpose, audience and message. Then we develop an outline and agree on the angle. Once that’s signed off, we move into interviews, research, writing, editing and design. You’ll have review points along the way, but we’ll manage the heavy lifting. Most projects take 4 to 6 weeks from start to finish.

Can we include insights from customers or external partners?

Yes – those often make the best content. Whether it’s a quote, a case study or anonymised feedback, customer insights bring reports to life. They add credibility, emotional depth and proof that you’re solving real problems in the real world.

How long does it take to create a white paper or report?

Depending on complexity and access to people, most projects take between four and six weeks. If you’re looking for something with lots of moving parts – primary research, multiple stakeholder interviews, full campaign assets – we’ll create a timeline that works for you. But we work efficiently. We respect deadlines. And we’ll never keep you waiting just to look busy.

Can you design the report as well as write it?

Yes. And the design matters more than many people think. You want a layout that feels clear, modern and considered – not a wall of text or a fiddly download no one wants to open. We handle the entire production, from page structure and graphics to branded templates and web-ready formats. We’ll even create social or campaign assets if you need them.

Can you help us promote the white paper once it’s created?

Yes. We often work with clients to plan a distribution strategy that includes email marketing, LinkedIn campaigns, media outreach, or sales enablement materials. There’s no point writing something brilliant if no one sees it. We’ll help you make sure the right people do.

What results can we expect from publishing a white paper or report?

It depends how you use it. Some clients use it to position their brand at the top of the market. Others use it to attract leads, SEO, support account-based marketing, or give their sales team a better way to open doors. You’re unlikely to see a sudden spike in conversions. This is a long game – building trust, authority and meaningful relationships. But when it’s done well, it opens conversations that would never have happened otherwise. And that’s where the real value lives.
