Video Scripts & Storyboards

Turning marketing ideasinto compelling stories

Whether you’re creating a brand video, explainer, campaign ad or customer story, the success of your video starts with the story. At Method Marketing, we can help you shape the narrative – and make sure every second earns its place.

Lots of production teams can shoot video – but not everyone knows how to tell a story. Without a strong narrative, even the most beautifully shot footage can fall flat. That’s why we focus on scripting and structure first, using the mechanics of storytelling to engage your audience, evoke emotion, and drive action.

A great video starts long before the cameras roll. It starts with knowing your audience, understanding what they need, and finding the most powerful way to reach them. We work closely with you to translate your objectives into a clear concept – and then build scripts and storyboards that bring it to life with clarity, purpose and impact.

From big brand stories to sharp explainers, we combine creative storytelling with strategic thinking – so your videos don’t just look good, they perform. Whether you need help refining your message, crafting the perfect script, or visualising the story through professional storyboards, we’ll ensure every element is shaped to resonate and deliver.

What we do

Our approach to script and storyboard creation

"You are in safe hands"

In my capacity as a professional photographer and videographer I've worked with Method Marketing for several years now creating imagery and video content with them for their clients. In working with Method Marketing the first thing to note is that you are in safe hands. Preplanning, preparation and professionalism are integral to how they work, allied with great understanding and insight as to their client's needs and industry. I've seen Method Marketing engage with, and create great working relationships with their clients, where others have failed to achieve the same trust and respect. In short, if I wanted to hire a marketing company they would be a first choice based on the hard work, integrity and marketing knowledge that is the core of their business.

Your video script and storyboarding questions

answered

Why are scripts and storyboards so important?

Because they are the blueprint for a successful video. A strong script ensures your message is clear, emotionally resonant, and aligned with your goals. A well-planned storyboard translates that message into compelling visuals, making sure everyone – from internal stakeholders to external production teams – is working from the same vision. Without these foundations, even high-quality footage can miss the mark.

Can you help us develop creative ideas from scratch?

Yes. Many clients come to us with only a general idea or a business goal. We’ll help you shape that into a strong creative direction, exploring different formats and story approaches that suit your audience, platform and brand personality. Whether you need to inform, inspire, or convert – we’ll find a concept that works.

What if we already have a rough script – can you just improve it?

Absolutely. If you’ve written something in-house or have notes from a creative session, we can refine and shape it into a finished script. We’ll tighten the structure, sharpen the messaging, and ensure the tone, pacing and length suit your intended format. We can also create a storyboard to match – so you know exactly how the video will flow.

Do you create storyboards in-house?

Yes – our creative team produces professional storyboards for every video we script. These can range from simple scene-by-scene sketches to detailed shot-by-shot visual plans, depending on the complexity of your video and production needs. They’re designed to help you visualise how the story unfolds and give production teams a clear roadmap for filming.

How involved will our internal team need to be?

As involved as you want to be – but we’ll do the heavy lifting. We’ll ask you to share your objectives, brand guidelines and any reference material upfront. After that, we’ll lead on the creative and collaborate with you at key review points. If your internal experts need to feature in the video or shape the messaging, we’ll make that process smooth and time-efficient.

How long does it take to create scripts and storyboards?

That depends on the complexity and number of deliverables, but most projects take between 1–2 weeks from briefing to final approval. We’ll always confirm timelines before we begin and can often accommodate faster turnarounds if needed.

Can you create scripts for different types of video content?

Yes – we can script across a wide range of formats and lengths. From brand films, explainers and social ads to recruitment videos, internal comms or thought leadership pieces, we tailor the tone, structure and messaging to the intended platform and audience. If you need multiple formats from one core idea, we can write modular scripts to make it easy.

Do you work with in-house or third-party production teams?

We do. If you already have a video production partner or an in-house team, we’ll ensure our scripts and storyboards are fully production-ready. We’re also happy to liaise directly with your producers or directors to ensure smooth handover and creative alignment.

What if we want the same story told across different formats – like long-form and social cutdowns?

We can plan for that from the outset. We’ll create a primary script and visual structure, then adapt the messaging and scenes for different runtimes and platforms. Whether it’s a full-length video for your website and shorter versions for Instagram, LinkedIn or YouTube Shorts, we’ll make sure everything is consistent, effective, and on-brand.

Do we need to know what we want before we start?

Not at all. Part of our job is helping you figure that out. If you’re not sure about the right format, tone or visual style, we’ll guide you through the options and help shape a direction based on your audience, objectives and brand identity.
