Running a content marketing business takes more than sharp ideas and strong coffee – having the right marketing tools is essential. At Method Marketing, we’ve built a tech stack that helps us stay focused, on time and on brief – all while producing content we’re proud of.
Here are a few of Lucy‘s go-to tools that keep things moving smoothly, creatively and (mostly) stress-free. Yes, this article contains affiliate links, which means we may receive a small payment if you sign up using one of them – but rest assured, we only recommend what we actually use and love.
Content marketing tools
SEMRush
An all-rounder we’ve used for years. It helps us do deep keyword research, audit client websites, map out content plans, track local SEO listings and even schedule social posts.
Spotify for Creators
Formerly Anchor.fm, this is the tool behind our podcasting efforts. It distributes across platforms, gives listener stats and keeps adding new features. Great for getting your voice out there.
Grammarly
I loathe sloppy grammar. To avoid hoisting myself on my own petard, I rely on Grammarly’s browser extension. It catches stray commas and sneaky typos before they ever reach a client.
Descript
When transcriptions go wrong (it happens), Descript is our fallback. Upload a video and it gives you a surprisingly accurate transcript – perfect for interviews, calls or podcast prep.
Email marketing tools
Mailerlite
I’ve been flying the MailerLite flag for years. It’s got all of the tools marketers need – email creation, automation, landing pages – and the interface is intuitive and friendly. Bonus: it’s free up to 1,000 subscribers.
Stripo
For next-level email design, Stripo is a game-changer. It’s a drag-and-drop builder with more creative freedom than standard platforms, so you can design stunning emails and export them as HTML.
Organisation tools
ClickUp
We’ve been using ClickUp to manage projects since 2021 and we’re still discovering new features. With custom fields, time tracking, subtasks, tags, AI tools and easy sharing with clients, it’s our central hub for keeping everything on track.
Todoist
Ticking off to-do lists is my happy place. I use Todoist to stay on top of life admin – gift lists, dental appointments and other life stuff that needs doing. It syncs beautifully between devices so I can stay organised on the move.
Google Workspace for Business
Design tools
Adobe InDesign
Once a magazine editor, always a layout nerd. InDesign gives me complete design control for long-form content and custom publications. It’s not beginner-friendly, but it’s powerful.
Canva
For quick-turn visuals and social media graphics, Canva is a breeze. The free plan is packed with features – and let’s be honest, sometimes simple is all you need.
Bonus: Life tools
Penfold
If you’re self-employed and ignoring your pension (I’ve been there), Penfold makes it easy to start. You can pay in as and when it suits you and watch your fund grow.
Revolut
For travel and international payments, Revolut is a lifesaver. Fast, simple and great customer support too. I honestly don’t know how I managed without it.
